Is used as a non-formaldehyde co-fixative
(The use of direct dyes, especially for cotton fibre, is often associated with washfastness problems because of ionic interaction with the fibre or dye built-ups in fibre cavities. POLYQUAT is used as a fixing agent for improving washfastness.)
